"What should I wear to class?"

Last night, in preparation for my first evening of class, I asked my good friend Tammy "What do you think I should wear?" To that question, of course, she had no reply. As most of my close friends and family are well aware, more often than not, I obsess over the most random and/or obsolete things. I believe that makes me unique and who I am.

Before I go into what Spartanburg Citizens' Academy entails and what provoked me to apply... I guess I should give you a little background about myself. I am curious about all things that deal with government. My Dad is a retired Postal Inspector and was also in Army Intelligence during Vietnam (as an interpreter). I blame this "need" on the wonderful genes I inherited from my "Shuggs". As a child, I was able to witness some pretty cool stuff. He worked on special assignment for Senator John Glenn, he had a surveillance van (for work purposes) with a periscope in it, and he even disguised (OK OK dressed up as) McGruff the Crime Fighting Dog at a Postal Inspector picnic. Needless to say, it's in the genes! Blame my dad for my endless emails of mugshots that I send, constant questions, burning desire to solve local crimes, and my hope of one day attending Stiletto Spy School in Vegas (here).

Needless to say, I am no longer afraid of small things like "My Little Pony" and am ready to take on the challenge that Citizens' Academy may present... I am just ready for my ride along and would love to use the siren.
